The I.O.O.F. Pioneer Cemetery of Corvallis: a list of all known burials, marked and unmarked, along with biographical information, newspaper articles and early Benton County, Oregon history Paperback – April 6, 2026

The International Order of Odd Fellows Pioneer Cemetery was started back in 1858 when settlers from the Oregon Trail arrived in and around Benton County, Oregon beginning in the 1850's. The main city, Marysville, was later renamed Corvallis, "the heart of the valley".Extensive research has created this book which contains the listings of every known and unknown burial along with biographical information. The majority of its 1,100 entries provide the name of the deceased along with birth date and place, death date and place, parents, spouses and children, if applicable and newspaper obituaries when located. In addition, there is a map of the cemetery and each occupant has a plot number for easy reference. Being a genealogist, I thought it important to also include information regarding headstones. If there is a headstone, its description is provided while if no marker is present, that is indicated as well.The early history of the Willamette Valley can be read within the life stories of these early settlers.
